Lion King by Darsy
Lion King
My version of the Lion King. It's not really Disney related I just wanted to draw something related to sovereignty, owning yourself and the power of a lion, hence the title :D

Black Mamba by Darsy
Black Mamba
Trying something new this time, not experimenting with the animal's pattern so much with this one but I'm happy with it, I wanted to mix the sexy curves with the killing angles.
I know you thought Kill Bill right? XD

Golden Zebra by Darsy
Golden Zebra
I like to explore these ideas involving animals and african influenced fashion. This is something similar to my previous Silent Tiger piece.

Gardener
A very enjoyable painting :)
It was supposed to be just a kid with dreadlocks but then I went a bit crazy with flowers and psychedelic colors and chakras and stuff XD

Thank you!

You're progress is so very inspiring =) My semester just ended, so I think I might join you for the summer. Would you mind if I ask you a few questions about Magic Box?

I don't mind if you ask at all, I'll be happy to answer. I'm learning a lot, so I think it's definetly worth it.
Thanks very much!

I was thinking of enrolling myself, after I pass all of my exams. I read that it's only $18 per month but I was curious what is available to you for the first two months? Can you choose which assignments to take on and do you get feedback on them after you complete them? Do you only unlock 1 lesson per month? How do they give you feedback on your work? Email, skype or in some other way?
Are you satisfied with this program overall?

Alright I'll tell you what I know:

Each month you get a new assignment unblocked, for example the first month has to do with Color+Light+Reference+Sketches, the second one Brushes+Edges, the third Advanced Masking+Dimension and so on...

You are totally free to do or not to do the assignments but it's very advisable to follow the program because although not completely necessary you will benefit a lot from certain things you learn in one lesson and then apply it easily on the next one. Also when you focus on things from the basics you learn fundamental rules which although may seem obsolete at first, can be great life-savers when you have something wrong with a work that you're developing but can't find what is missing. When you strip it to the basics/fundamentals, it's much easier to pinpoint the errors.

There is a forum called the Centrifuge where everyone posts they're progress and there's a thread for every assignment in which you can create your topic, share your work and get feedback from other artists (very similar to conceptart.org). The feedback given is good, though sometimes people take a bit too long to answer for me (like, a couple of hours), but they Always DO answer and help you through the forum. Sometimes Chris himself gives you some feedback.

I am satisfied with the program overall yeah, and I would recommend it to either beginners who are learning the basics as well to more experienced artists who need to improve their work or are missing some of those basic and valuable tools that could take their work to the next level.

The most important thing to have is commitment, because nobody will force you to do it and you will be totally responsible for your own success. If you follow the tips, persevere, and believe you can really improve your art and become a professional, you certainly will! Many people did...!

So yeah, that's all, hope I was helpful and all the best for you!
;)
